So, SCMP says all the radicals have surrendered (from PolyU ). I can't think or imagine what will happen next. Meanwhile, Carrie must be reliving on this small "victory" .
I should consult history again.
Minor changes with the new commissioner taking over...

Honour, Duty, Loyalty.
Hello officer, can you tell me the way to the Peak Tram?

Bringing and planning to use flashbangs and an sub-machine gun is truly terrible crowd control. Flash bangs have already been used and nearly caused a stampede yesterday...
The person who thought that bringing in counter-terror units to crowd control was a good idea...
For Bond connoisseurs, this is exactly the type of people that are being sent in:
"And that makes perfect sense! Since MI6 looks for maladjusted young men, who give little thought to sacrificing others in order to protect Queen and country. You know... former SAS types with easy smiles and expensive watches."

I seriously can’t understand why some people think the protesters are the problem here...(even if you can justifiably disagree with their methods)
Any form of contemplation of self-defence is most probably already labelled illegal, and if not yet, the righteous (but never rightist!) northern waxworks have a knack for ruling things criminal retroactively.
"Just asking for a friend" is obvious incitement for something and all forms of incitement are obviously illegal unless specifically ruled legal, or performed by a pro-CCP entity.
With these proto-disclaimers in mind, wouldn't it be awful if members of the vocal minority rioters figured out a way to spray some kind of oily mist at these armoured honourable, dutiful and loyal defenders of law and order?
Unable to see clearly they might need to momentarily lift their masks which would leave them vulnerable to toxic cockroach fumes!

What incident is being referred to here?
https://twitter.com/timmysung/status...37309510176768Yesterday, Security Secretary John Lee said ramming a car into a crowd of people is an act of terrorism.
(In contrast to several police vans ramming a crowd of protesters at high speed last night in Yau Ma Tei...)
