Do you have the CWB video you quoted?

"None of the 48 arrestees in Yuen Long or the 3 in Causeway Bay appear to have been arrested for a specific act, such as blocking a road. Their ‘crime’ appears to have been Being There. Freedom of assembly in #HK is virtually suspended. "

Doing a private investigation and crowd sourcing of information is now “doxxing”

Photos of that suspect/popo were posted on Reddit recently before the posts were pulled by the mods there (Reddit has significant PRC investment, which may or may not have played a role; it has in the past, but I do get the point).

The "evidence" wasn't posted there so I wouldn't know about that.

What I do know is that when cops aren't held to account for their actions, these kinds of things are bound to happen. Arresting a pro-dem district councillor "by the rule-by-law book" isn't going to change anything for the better.

    Technically, it is.

    But "seditious intentions" ... ?!?

Isn’t there some duty by public officials to identify themselves while on official duties? I’d imagine it’s pretty much restoring the balance if this was connected to wrongdoing in some form.

Can't wait for the cop who showed a reporters ID card to a livestream and the people who later doxxed him to also be convicted of the same crime.
