Yeah that longer process can eventually detect the virus, but the efficient way to resolve this is for the mainland to be more forthcoming about exchanging the necessary information and evidence like samples, as the health authorities indicated in the article.

The big question is, will the medical authorities in Wuhan release it and when? This is a real test on exchange of medical info between mainland and HK, there are agreed procedures in place for both sides to do ths, but will it work when it is really needed, like now.

A traveler from Wuhan has been found with the new type of coronavirus in Thailand:

    https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand...ed-in-thailand

The report did not say whether the infected tourist live near the closed wet market believed to be the source of the outbreak or worked there (or had friends/relatives in the vicnity of the market), only that people in contact with her have not show signs of infection. This question mark is worrying, because if this traveler in question did not live near the wet market or work there, that means the virus has spread beyond the immediate centre of the outbreak and is now disseminated into the wider society in Wuhan. That would be really worrying.

One more suspected case as of today but no detail whether any of the cases actually are the new coronavirus.

Don’t be panicked by the headline. Don’t be complacent about the risk either.
