And another article, with HK expert saying probably not SARS and no information to indicate human to human contact yet.

Guan, who played a key role in unraveling the source of the SARS virus, says the recent pneumonia patients are apparently responding to standard supportive treatments, so, “I don’t think this is SARS.”

Given that suspicions center on the fish market, authorities should “work to dig out the zoonotic source,” Guan says.

There’s a slight problem with these contradictory statements.

They had not been to any wet market in Wuhan before the onset of symptoms.

No problem because the hospital update doesn't state if these people have been screened for flu and other illnesses that are extremely common at this time of year. In Macau they reported 4 patients, all who turned out to have flu.

Anyone noticing an increased number of people wearing masks on the streets today?

If they are not wearing the N95 masks, then it is useless.

So far we have 16 cases, all alive. In the meantime, 2900 people died in the past 4 months in the US from influenza. In the winter of 2018, an estimated 80.000 people died in the US from influenza and related causes.

I mean, I don't want to belittle what happened back in 2003 and the impact it had on society, but is there maybe a chance people are overreacting a bit?

they do because people here are snowflakes. Flu kill people every year, the old and the young ones. The news outlets here ran out of stuff to report.
