Increase awareness of catch it, bin it, kill it and encourage people to wash their hands.

Very basic but it's been proven to be far more effective than wearing a mask, yet many people don't bother.

Either way, it won't make any difference because N.Korea will prolly be the least affected ( because unlike elsewhere like in China, there won't be an influx of humans carrying all the known and unknown damn viruses).

I voted for all except - lockdown like Wuhan, and the North Korea stuff.

Unfortunately the Public Broadcast Notices on public radio are still telling the public not to join anti-government protests as they may (will) be deemed illegal.

This. The locking of Wuhan and other cities is going to be useless at best, and counterproductive at worst.

People are going to flee the city at all costs, _especially_ the people who have some symptoms, thereby spreading the virus at high speed. Why not instead offer _help_ to people who might be affected?

Also, obviously, HK is next on the list of cities under lockdown. Have fun with that.

Ban all live exports from China into HKG and elsewhere in the world. Also stress the importance of personal and public hygiene....something like getting a camel though the eye of a needle. Anyone showing flu symptoms be detained in the nearest medical clinic. Latest reports from channelnewsasia.com is that one man who flew China Southern to Singapore has been detained in a hospital in Singapore because his symptoms became worse upon landing. His condition was found to be the corona virus.

Aussies are equally confused by the import of the "coronavirus" from China.

Btw, seriously, after Sars the recommendations were:
    - government should communcate quickly and openly
    - people who cough should wear a mask (so not necessarily everyone else)
    - wash your hands

Travel bans and school bans were considered mostly useless. Quarantine of close contacts of the patients on the other hand was indeed effective.

Also, isn't it about time that these wet markets are controlled? Anything having to do with animals, especially wild animals, even more animals about to be food sources, should be done with the best possible hygiene.

Have a city Chief Executive with executive rather than administrative powers?
