    Medical Staff Strike News

Now that our unionized doctors and nurses will go on strike for the next 4 days. Carrie Lam still has not learned her lesson from withdrawing the extradition bill. She still continues to try to weasel her way out of executing things.

In my opinion SHE should be on the top of the list for EXECUTION, closely followed by most, if not all, of her sycophantic "ministers" !!!

Yea I know what you mean. Even her stoogies are delusional thinking that the Hospital staff will not go on strike. If 97% voted to go on strike, they will go on strike.

Some of my friends who are doing internship as well as senior colleagues on residency are either resigning or joining the strike. Those joining the strike were a part of the nearly eight months long anti gov't protests. The interns are ,I think , most exposed to a direct transmission and, or cross infection. We were joking , " Forward march onto the battlefield oh!! great soldiers of (the) Lam(b) of God". God aka Xi.

Could you please ask your striking friends how they are planning on feeding themselves when the border shuts down? They can't be expecting anyone to risk their lives driving across to Huizhou to get a truck load of veggies and meat, if they are unable to do the same treating their patients? I'm seriously curious about their train of thought there. If it's as much a life and death situation as they are alleging than surely nobody should be allowed to cross for whatever reason.

Where does the HK food supply come from? How much from the Mainland and how much elsewhere? Also, as for allowing goods to cross, as they are allowing food/goods and not people (except drivers etc) for Wuhan, Beijing, etc, couldn't the same be done?

A1 : 90% of the total food supply in Hong Kong is imported food. The Mainland is our most important food source, especially for fresh food. 94% of fresh pork, 100% of fresh beef, 92% of vegetables and 66% of eggs in Hong Kong come from the Mainland.
    First result on Google

Frozen pork is 49% from China

It is likely to affect some hospital but others very unlikely to see any effect . the non strike working staff will do their best to reduce impact : emotions are running high mainly due the spill over from protest fall out . It's lashing out but going to hurt the wrong people the suffering patients : even a work to rule in which they claim for the hours of unpaid overtime would be better '

They weren't fresh. Usually either outright frozen when you buy them or saying something like "Previously frozen" on the label

And also, presumably, a rounding error compared to all the sliced beef served in noodle soup!
