Far as I know, teachers are still being paid their salaries?

Yes, these idiots should volunteer to go be quarantined in a proper place. But hey, it's more comfortable at home, and one can always go for a short errand, buy food, visit friends, etc. And who cares if others are are going to get the virus? It's me, me, me, me me, me and me. And everybody else can go to hell.

Have to disagree. The published charges (a thousand bucks US) are comparable or less than what an airline ticket for the same itinerary may cost now, considering the limited connection options left. Also keep in mind that for those working on contracts a legitimate evacuation is fully covered by the insurance. Bottom line, damn proud to be a citizen of a country that works tirelessly on retrieving its people from unfortunate situations, when needed. What did HK do for it's Wuhan-stuck citizens? Called some hospital to take a bunch of seriously ill ones in, as they couldn't get treatment anywhere in the ongoing chaos? Not a good subject to use for pointing out how greedy Western governments are. There are plenty of others, less sensitive in the current situation.

For fairness, maybe we should consider an online Lucky Draw.
