Moonshine - I’ll set up a still, draw it off at 70%, then we can party and kill germs all at once.

70% is standard for killing viruses one picks up on surfaces. 40% just spreads them around.
ETA Better yet: just wash hands with regular soap for 20 seconds in sink. Viruses go down the drain.
I have an idea on perspective...you can work from home, lucky you. Try living in MK or SSP, in a divided apartment, with shared bathroom facilities and you cant take time off work to buy basics like facemasks or hand sanitiser because to do so may well mean you could be fired that is of course if you could afford any of these items post the price increases. You could of course always head back to Europe.
As arguebot mark II, I’ll point out that it has something to do with virus fears, just not prompted by this particular strain.
Jokes aside, I do the same thing with the trains, but nearly fell twice with sudden braking over the years. Can’t do it at all with buses unless lucky enough to find a seat. Having one hand gloved until you remember to wash them might help.
Absolutely l am lucky, those who continue to man the shops, supermarkets, buses, 711s, and especially the sanitary workers deserve our praise and respect.
However just because some of us are better off (which was also true before the virus) doesn't mean we're unaffected.
I'd love to go back to Europe and work remotely from there even though it's not where I'm from (was on a work trip) but it's not practical as well as costly.
Limiting exposure to social media is key. I had subscribed to a sub on Reddit for getting updates/news/information on Corona virus but unsubscribed after a while it started going over head. Apart from Bnonews for global stats and wars.vote4.hk for local stats, I find Geo is enough to learn/know about opinions/thoughts on this.
While doing WFH, I save time on commute and lunch break. I spend this time to help my spouse with household chores and/or sort some of preps for meals. This frees up quite good time for us in evening - enough to catch up movie/tv show or couple of rounds of board games !
Yesterday's backchat had a session on the mental health you domestic helpers yesterday. Being stuck with their employer 24/7 and some employers banning them from going to meet friends at the weekend
