    So, for the likes of us, ones who just want more info on 10k handout.
    Updates on registration, choice of registrations, dates and what not !

    Eligible persons who wish to receive payment by cheque may register through the Hongkong Post from 21 June 2020 to 31 December 2021.

    Registration Form


    Starting from 15 June 2020, eligible persons may download paper registration forms (Form 2) from the Scheme’s website (www.cashpayout.gov.hk?noembed), Hongkong Post’s website or obtain the forms from:

    Post offices (except mobile post offices);
    Home Affairs Enquiry Centres of the Home Affairs Department;
    District Social Welfare Offices of the Social Welfare Department; and
    Public Housing Estate Offices and Customer Service Centre of the Hong Kong Housing Authority.
    Eligible persons may also submit an e-registration form online through the Hongkong Post’s website starting from 21 June 2020 at 9:00 am until 31 December 2021.

    Registration Procedures


    Eligible persons may submit electronic registration forms through the Hongkong Post’s website or complete and return the paper registration forms (Form 2) by post or in person. Only the following information is required for registration:

    English Name (as shown on the HK Permanent Identify Card) and Chinese Name (If applicable)
    Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card number
    Local contact telephone number (preferably an SMS-enabled local mobile phone number for receiving notifications from the Hongkong Post regarding the Scheme)
    Local correspondence address
    The post office code selected for cheque collection (i.e. any of 121 post offices in Hong Kong (excluding mobile post offices))

    Fully agree! I found it a bit ridiculous that if you don’t live here you still can apply while others living here are excluded.
    I will definitely share the handout with our helper.

    So, according to this article, I assume for those who live overseas without a local HK bank account, they have to fill out the paper form, mail it to the HK Government, and pick up the cheque at the HK post office.

    I guess those guys need to fly into HK just to get the cheque?

    Took all of 30 seconds to register for the payout using a mobile banking app just now.

    Everyone entitled to the handout who is living abroad should be made to do this

    I'm living in Canada and have an HSBC account in HK. But it's a joint account with my wife so we can't get the handout deposited into our account. I'm planning to register for my handout through the HK Post website and pick up the cheque in person. I wonder if I will be assigned a period of time to pick it up? Does anyone know how long I will have to pick it up? I would have to make my travel plans based on this.

    If someone used my ZA bank referral please let me know, i receive another $200 and i cant locate the person who used it.
