Nice suggestions from CDC on what high-risk people can do.

Brutal. Bergamo is a wealthy place with excellent hospitals. Still overloaded.

    What are the restrictions?

Mr Conte described the measures as "I stay home" - with people forbidden to assemble in public.

"No more nightlife; we can't allow this anymore since they are occasions for contagion," he said.

The restrictions are similar to those earlier applied to the worst affected Lombardy region, and 14 other provinces.

The government has said only those with a valid work or family reason that cannot be postponed will be permitted to travel.

Passengers departing on flights, except temporary visitors, will have to justify themselves, as will all those arriving by plane.

There are controls at train stations to check temperatures.

Cruise ships are forbidden to dock at various ports.
"Italy's coronavirus death toll jumped on Monday by 97 to 463."

It's a tough call, but I think PM Conte got it right. Now it's up to the people of Italy show self-discipline before the death toll quadruples again. And again.

And besides the casualties, SARS-CoV-2 leaves behind much larger percentage of afflicted people with long-term or permanent lung damage so a few weeks in maintenance mode is the safer rather than sorrier choice.

The hospitality industries are in for some hard times, but those who can work from home can't wait to welcome even faster, and low cost, wireless networks.

What could possibly go wrong at the moment with getting a lot of old people to crowd together? I mean there is no evidence that getting a large number of people who look healthy together in say a cult church could be any harm.

These people are quite deep into the Living with the Virus process we all will need to be getting into. As long as they trust the process ... Nice post, read it on FB, with the comments:
