    Corona Virus - March Week 2 - Global/HK News

    Diamond Princess, 2.0

Crew of over 1000 to be quarantined on Grand Princess after the passengers disembark in Oakland and are transferred to quarantine (US citizens) or sent home by charter flight (foreigners). No one knows where the voyage of the damned crew will head as no one wants to host the ship so maybe just wander around at sea for two weeks? This is gonna work out great!

Most of them are Filipino I think, so sail the ship back there and save a lot of flights

I suppose all the cruise ship crews are now going to be unemployed and not sending money home.

Or they will all just be infected and bury whatever bodies at sea at this rate...pretty sure at least 1/3 of the crew tests positive by the end of two weeks. Not sure if the Philippines will want them back right now...

On the Diamond Princess of the 513 Filipino crew by the end round 50 were infected. The infected were not repatriated, at least not in the main party. They could sail the ship in and take of those who test negative to put into quarantine.

My wonderful plan falls apart though when the ship is in mid Pacific and someone needs intensive care.

New thread - would appreciate we keep this news heavy.

A few overseas posters might find their access to this thread a bit restricted. Apologies for that, we do need our own quarantine rules in place for the mental health of the overall population.

Over-reaction and panic is the way forward if done properly.

Looks like Hong Kong has still only tested 2300 from their dashboard ("reported" I believe is the number tested). With 115 positive, that is 5 percent positive of those tested...imagine if they tested more...

So I just landed yesterday from korea via japan. And I all they did was give me a piece of paper to fill out my temperature everyday for 14 days and told me to call if I ever get a fever. There is no mandatory quarantine and they told me to wear a mask if I go out.

Did you tell them you came from Korea? Because there is no quarantine from Japan.
