    @cracker

The last bits of info I have (and things are changing quickly)....

    - Early arrivals during the day (morning - not sure what the cut off is) will be kept at the Asia World center and tested and released in several hours IF they test negative.
    - Late arrivals will be taken to the Regal Hotel in Kowloon and kept there till their tests are negative.

If you're released (i.e. tested negative) you will be asked to either quarantine at home or in a hotel. Several hotels have package rates - read the first post in this thred for the link.

Removed incorrect info about quarantine @ home

There is a pretty comprehensive FAQ on the govt corona virus website:

Yes, this is the main point - I don't want to have the 14 day quarantine also! How can I clarify?

What @Deleted said is correct. I was wrong about this - one of our friends self quarantined with their relative who arrived and I assumed it was mandatory.

I have heard of someone arriving at 7 am, not getting out until 5 pm. It was tough after long travel they said.

Thats a long wait. Were there a lot of early flights that day? Are flight numbers increasing into hk?

Does anyone know what the cut off arrival time is between waiting at the airport for the result and going to the Regal to wait overnight?

I landed at around 8.15pm. When I left testing centre at 12 midnight, still people coming through to start the testing process.

Queued to drop off health declaration forms.
Queued to get wristband and install application.
Got bags, then queued for lift to bus to testing location.
Bussed to testing location, drop bags off, bussed maybe 2 halls over to the testing location.
    Watched video,
    did the spit test.
did more forms to wait for hotel room (1-1.5 hours)
    got bags
    queued for bus to hotel.
waited in bus to be called out for hotel room.
picked up what was once hot food, then off to hotel room.

Some companies will ask you to self quarantine from work if anybody has come from overseas and staying in your house.
I work for a subsidiary of a large bank and that is the current HK policy.
