They went into lockdown at the 11th hour kicking and screaming and many people in the UK have still felt it was excessive. I'm still hearing plenty of stories of large groups gathering in parks against guidance.Original Post Deleted

That's because HK people were far more alert to the danger posed by the virus and forced the Lam Adminstration to act. HK people forced the government to act a lot sooner than the UK, hence better controllng the outbreak without needing to lockdown the whole city.Original Post Deleted

ICU is not good news. There is a huge difference between serious cases that require hospitalisation and critical cases that require intensive care. From what I can find elsewhere, mortality for ICU cases due to pneumonia vary from between 30 to 50%.
I do wish him a speedy recovery.
Yet my friends are complaining bitterly about the idiots still going out. Yes it has drastically reduced movement but still not enough according to them. Reduced park usage by 50% but did that include this past lovely weather weekend which is when the crowds seem to have come out?Original Post Deleted
his health is dominating the front page of most UK newspapers

Well considering he is the PM and he's in intensive care, not really a surprise.
While I think he is a complete tool, I would not want to wish what he is going through medically on anyone. Especially as he as a pregnant fiancee.
In addition, and again, i think he is a complete tool, he is still the PM. He was fairly elected in democratic elections, so any deterioration in his health is a major national concern.
