if you are yellow, well you prolly saw the news..
also covers the reason why people turn blue

Side: Anti-protest
Surprisingly: Lenient (26 previous convictions, 9 associated with violence)
[Section 17 charges associated with a maximum of life imprisonment. Section 19 charges with a maximum of 3 years imprisonment.]

Side: my personal opinion, police does not take any sides in politics
Surprisingly: normal, no indication of leniency by the final appeal court as their conviction still stands.

Politics aside, as someone who on one hand worked with offenders in the UK and was appalled by the leniency shown by British courts and the revolving door of crime it created and on the other was appalled by the ridiculously harsh sentences I see handed down to folks in the US, well, I thought HK had the balance about right... but 2 months for attacking a teacher with a box cutter?? 2 years seems fairer... but what do I know? I'd have to say, as a teacher, I'd feel pretty pissed off about that. Well, I feel pretty pissed off about that.
