Separated this out... Definitely looks like there is increased speculation at this point... Far too much happening at the same time.

But is it even confirmed at this point that:

    1. Article 23 will be implemented by Beijing through the NPC.
    2. Or through the HK government

How is it going to work in practice?

Unfortunate coincidence... Very convenient though, hope it comes back online quickly.

I wonder how HK will enforce the law with all the local opposition towards it. Will they turn into an actual police state or will they have to call in the PLA? Or will they simply try to ignore most of it and hope the protests and the wraith of China goes away.

Well the HK police is almost not accountable to anyone now, I suspect this law will simply lead to disappearances of activists and state sanctioned murder of opposition figures. Oh of course they won't say "murder", just "unfortunate incident" while in detention or "suicide".

More rumours? Can’t search yellow in Chinese, no auto-search. DC councillors can’t post on Facebook...

Well no need to panic. They may pass the law then do nothing, just to say, see, nothing to fear (before the slow cooking continues)...The reaction on the street though has to be managed first.
