    Yep.
It's not just the wo/men in white coats.
Borderline hysteria is the authentic expression of Hong Kong's relationship to the disease.
No amount of principled objection will change it.
    'Voice' has no traction.
    'Exit' only possibility.

Thanks for that explanation. So does that explain the community tests which picked up 2 people who were positive in August and already released (and yet inexplicably contributed to the count for that day)?

If so, the numbers are patently false - why isn't this more widely reported / known?!

    Yes, it explains it exactly.

Why isn't this more widely reported? It is reported to an extent but people are inherently illogical and fearful and they prefer to believe the worst case scenario (particularly true of HK people who are also often superstitious and inclined to follow the crowd and not think for themselves). There is also this thing in Chinese culture about not questioning your elders and therefore young people assume the attitude (and risk tolerance) of the elderly to some degree.

But it's also not true that the numbers are patently false.
The world is not black and white, I can't say that enough.

Testing is not absolute which is another reason why we should't rely on it to the exclusion of all other things - All the data we need about how prevalent covid is in the community, about how dangerous it is (or more accurately it isn't) etc is already contained within our understanding of cases their severity and mortality rates, attack rates and R rates.

Another reason why this mass testing process is largely a waste of time form a science perspective. It's mostly about calming fears - which to me just panders to illogical thought process's and more wasteful practices.

Did anybody else also notice that they don't seem to provide the symptoms anymore in the health department overview? Or am I overlooking something.?In the Webb Tweet, it appears that 'asymptomatic' is the absolute prevailing symptom, so maybe they want to avoid questions on that?

I don't tend to read the updates, they focus one's attention on all the wrong things in my view, but you very well may be onto something.
