Even if one of the vaccines was available in HK, I think I'll wait until:

    1. there's been enough time to get a bit more visibility on whether there are any side effects; and

    2. I know which vaccines (if any) will be accepted by which countries for quarantine-free travel - I'm not assuming that all vaccines will be equally accepted for this purpose.

If I can get an effective vaccine that I trust (so, basically, any Western one, not the Russian or Chinese ones- which may or may not be effective but there will not be any transparent information on either one) I will take it in a heartbeat so I can see my 85 year old mother again and not risk killing her. Bonus if I don't have to quarantine (well, no quarantine when headed to the US, just coming back that's an issue).

You may need to wait even after getting the jab, if this is true

COVID-19 vaccines may not prevent spread of virus, so mask-wearing, other protections still critical

Congrationation to UK for winning the vaccine race.
    They did a great job.
These things usually take years, but they do it in months. Amazing!

BioNTech is a German company, they developed the vaccine and Pfizer is their manufacturing and distribution partner.

I find the flag waving a bit silly, the scientists probably represent many countries anyway.

Well hullexile isn't wrong, even if they were first using a western vaccine, this "UK won" is a bit exaggerated.

Meanwhile Turkey will probably be using a Chinese vaccine. The world is a funny place.

    Let's hope the world wins.
