The usual catch-all for things they don’t like is/was “picking quarrels and provoking trouble”. I don’t think there are specific offences and penalties specified https://www.chinalawtranslate.com/en/2015nsl/

Plus what you are referring to seems to be what some of the 12 are alleged to have done? Still not NSL-worthy even by HK standards, but that’s for HK courts to decide.

Except we know that China has a very umm, unique perspective on its borders. "Border crossing with Chinese characteristics..."

The mainland cops / military who were drafted into the HKPF to destroy the city have not been charged with anything on their return.

Maybe it’s just me, but I would have thought the Mainland-based dance instructors allegedly illegally crossing the borders would be more of a threat to “national security” given the ongoing pandemic, than the 11/20 or whatever number it allegedly took for people to leave for Taiwan. Heartening to see taxpayer money so well used and for such good purpose as the usual justifying one’s own existence kicks into increasingly higher gear.

Confused- so they are going to do the rest of their sentences in HK? Or they are going to be released??
