Most minimum wage jobs are also in centres where accommodation costs are high. You face a choice: substandard, possibly illegal living conditions or a two hour commute for a shitty low wage job with high commute costs.
It would be hard to beat Hong Kong on accommodation costs or substandard living conditions.
It's not the end of the world. Britain will still remain a formidable economy and will retain its links to the EU. If you speak decent English and are willing to adapt a bit, a new and decent way of life can be had.
