yeah that is a bridge too far. zero blame to government at all.

if you show up at the thai restaurant but wanted japanese instead, that is your fault.

government just wants to roll out as many vaccines as they can, why should police it if you went to the wrong centre? not as if they are "hiding" which jab you are taking too...

People are so black or white in their analysis.

It's entirely possible for both parties to mess up as they have clearly done in this case.

He's right to complain about their system, just as they would be right to complain about people not checking their appointment details carefully.

Looking at my appointment, there's no address for the vaccination centre in the SMS, that's a pretty basic error in of itself.

@blandy62 No, you have show the appointment booking or the SMS message at the entrance (they checked mine at entrance)

When I got the vaccine the nurse verbally asked me "Which vaccine are you getting today", so I had to clearly answer "BioNTech" before she injected me. I thought this was a smart system to verify that I understand what vaccine I am getting.

The center staff has some responsibility but having been through it, I struggle to understand how someone missed the sign at the door, the staff at the door asking are you here for BioNTech (in my case), the pamphlet we were required to read with the name and manufacturer of the vaccine, the consent form to sign, and then got the point of being injected without having a clue. This man may need a carer of his own rather than being someone else’s. I don’t say that as a slight but this story indicates an inability to notice important details.

They checked several times with me regarding the vaccine that I was getting. This guy has his own motives, goodness knows what they are because 99 % of the comments support the view that he is an eedjut.

Then do they type up the certificates on the spot then? I assumed they have them all ready to go?

Thought he may have been illiterate. But doesn't seem to be the case. Hmmm...
Would be good to hear from those who have already gotten their jabs how the process exactly is at the centre and what kinds of signages, if any, exists.

The guy has cancer. Give him a break. He made a mistake going to the wrong place, and was probably a bundle of nerves worrying if he is going to have any serious side effects. There is something wrong with the stops and checks if he got the wrong vaccine. May be there is complacency on his part that he felt he didn't need to ask " Is this Biontech pfzer" because he trusted the system to be fail proof.

But something went wrong, and in HK there are a lot of illiterate people, old people who are senile or confused, homeless people, people who may not be very educated and they will need the vaccine too. So there has to be a system to make sure they get the right vaccine.

I don't understand how he could have gotten the injection if his HKID card is not registered for sinovac.

As I said before, I was asked to verify the type of vaccine several times. I can't imagine that anyone who is half awake getting the 'wrong' vaccine. The description according to the eedjut does not pass the smell test.
