Speaking of which, what are the protocols or procedures the police use during a car chase and police shootout? I imagine there must be some sort of criteria for the police to whip out their guns in those kind of situations...something like immediate danger to themselves or the general public?

The police quickly arrived with their guns drawn and aimed it at the driver. One of the police officer then use his stick to break the car window and shot the driver.

The driver has been arrested for dangerous driving, not having a valid driver's license and other charges:

Now here's the question: What made the driver drive in this manner? Was he under the influence of drugs or alcohol? Was carrying drugs for his triad boss? Escaping some triad enemies and the police found out?

Couldn't the cop just shoot at the damn tyres and puncture the wheels?

Explosive decompression of a tyre burst may injure the police, damage other cars and injure their occupants I guess.

Having “helped” in a dangerous traffic situation last year (albeit no guns!) I can tell you everyone driving off was being very rational. Nothing but hassle and procedural idiocy from the police and justice system ever since. Unfortunately next time I'll drive by (or just gawp from a safe distance filming on a phone) like everyone else.

Shooting the fucker was a good n final call, if people think shouting STOP is going to make the crazy fucker stop then they need their heads checked as well.

This crazy fucker couldnt care less of his GF and 2 year old kid in the back of the CAR, he didnt care about all the cars he hit trying to get away, since he has no valid license, car is expired so i assume no insurance as well, all vehicles that he hit will have to pay their own money to get fixed if they dont have full coverage. the new taxi driver is most fucked, he is going to loose lots of money.

OK about the protection of people. But all that stuff about licence and hitting cars, well, I might have a controversial view on this but in I feel criminal damage should not be a capital offence.
