The speed with which the old twats would go out and get vaccinated If they let Covid free, would make you eat your words.

It would also solve a big swathe of Hong Kong’s problems almost overnight.

    So yeah, not ‘can’t’, ‘won’t’
The UK listens to Sage, HK listens to old people.

How's that going for the UK right now?

The UK’s great, if you like wind and snow. But anyone can jet off to Med For a quick holiday Any time they like.

Well, finally. I've only been saying this for months and months but it is being spelled out bluntly now.

Hong Kong cannot ever open up if the elderly refuse to get vaccinated.

Time to make vaccines mandatory for malls and eating places.

When you say, "listens to old people" do you mean "listens to a group conspiracy theorists and anti vaxxers even though they are vastly more likely to die of COVID than anyone else"?

It's going great. The queues at the pub are out to the street, the street food markets are buzzing and Chinatown is as crowded as ever. And all that without having to wear a mask, do you even remember what faces look like?

Strange comparison seeing, I would imagine for most people, they would choose the UK over HK right now? No chance of leaving the city to see family overseas, ridiculous restrictions like only tables for 4 even if it is a family of 5, children at school can not use utensils when eating, wear a mask when sitting alone on the beach, Penny's Bay if you are a close contact of a close contact. Compared to what horrors are you picturing now for the UK? Much higher vaccination rates overall and more importantly the vulnerable population, booster shot availability for everyone, life going on as normal. Oh the horror! Some people clearly have forgotten that this virus is actually just a cold for most people not an automatic death sentence if you catch it.

The picture may be different if you viewed it from the perspective of a worker in the NHS vs Hospital authority.

Vaccination is encouraged and should be a choice. This is a good alternative to pressure people to get vaccinated instead of mandating vaccines.

Oh yes because the elderly unvaccinated are desperate to get to Bali for the weekend so will be queueing up to get vaccinated now that this has been spelled out for them...

Sarcasm font over... This is just stating the obvious and as the elderly who are not vaccinated yet clearly do not care about the city being isolated this "pressure" as you call it will do sweet FA to increase vaccination numbers now.
