It just says that two almost indistinguishable starting states (or maybe completely indistinguishable within measurement error) can lead to wildly different states several minutes/hours/days down the line due to those differences propagating non-linearly.
Classic example: weather.
I meant it more as a koan, but I think weather is almost certainly deterministic.
