    Probably buy a 7 number 1/2 draw random pick ... good for 7 chances and half pay out for 35$ ... (in addition to usual 1 line pick)

    How did auto pick work in 1991? Obviously no app on a smartphone, no internet, so it had to be done in a physical jockey club store. They wouldn’t have had computer machines for customers to use either

    It was in Australia, where I was living at the time.

    You went to the Jockey Club outlets and asked for Quick Picks and told them how many. Their printers (which are still functional) would spit out the numbers / receipt.
