So hampsters that are already pets are spared the cull?
No hamster bought after 22 December is spared. You MUST hand them over to AFCD (and this is why you want to pay CASH for your hamster).

Yes, little Fluffy that was your Christmas present is about to be "culled."

What a clusterfuck.....Let me guess what comes next after all animals are eradicated... .. stop import of all foods (frozen and fresh) after a sample of covid was confirmed again on frozen foods. Or .... if import is allowed ..... soak all foods with disinfectant so they are guaranteed covid free.

Alternatively, only allow food to be sold that was produced in the motherland.

The end result: Covid = 0%, Cancer and other health related problems thanks to disinfectants and importing food from the motherland = 100%

    Random answer from the Interwebs:

Cull' has always meant 'kill' of course. But “kill” is a generic word that doesn't imply reason or intent. 'Cull', on the other hand, is meant to imply deliberation. Imply that there is some sort of thought (however inhumane) behind the action.

And this is why if, god forbid, you test positive and they ask if you have ANY PETS the answer is NO.

Nothing good can come of having your pet(s) tested in HK...

This started as a joke but now her enclosure (which could be easily seen from the entrance our office it's a huge cage, two levels) has been moved to the "not easily seen" conference room until this blows over. Never know if our patriotic security guards might turn us in...
