    LHS and Elderly

Hi. Does anyone know if LHS app works without a data sim? My dad is 82 and just got first jab... Will give him an old android phone so he can get into places more easily... But don't really want to get him data sim, he has never used the Internet, it will scare him lol.

Also for elderly there's no more sign form before you go in? So LHS app and scan qr code is the only way? Thanks if anyone knows.

He doesn't require data to use LHS, if he chooses to use the app.

If he's over 65 he's exempt from using the app: https://www.fehd.gov.hk/english/even...q_general.html

Seniors don’t need LHS (and kids below 12 or 15, not sure) but some staff and govt casual people at eateries and venues are being anal about the vaxx records.
There was an eatery that required my grandma to present her original vaxx record to swipe the QR code as the damn machine wasn’t able to pick it up from a photocopy. When they suggested us to buy take out, I said that I will spend my money at your competitors!

Thanks for advice. LHS did indeed work without data. So he's got a dumb smart phone now. Am teaching him how to use the app but I doubt he'll remember.. You try teaching an 82 year old to press the side button and then swipe up on the screen to turn the phone on...let alone use the app! Have told him to just show the paper, if they don't accept then tell them to use the phone if he can't remember how to use it. That will piss them off and they will just let him in. Hong Kong govt is so stupid... Literally using a hammer when all you need is blu tack.
