In any sane governance mechanism, with the horrid performance of Lam & Co, they would have long been "fired", either by losing an election due to voter discontent, or being shown the door by their superiors dissatisfied with their performance, but we are not really dealing with a governance structure where performance accountability matters. We are dealing with a governing mechanism where political loyalty and obedience trumps everything else. So long as the local lackeys say the right political slogans and phrases, they are safe in their jobs.

Is it police doing the fining or some other group?

On my bike yesterday with no mask. Cycled past two separate police vehicles. Either they didn't see me or couldn't be arsed driving after me. Or just don't care that much.

Came off a hike earlier in week and walked right past the police station. Again, no mask. Wasn't being bolshy, just forgot to put in back on again.

    "Bolshy" ha ha.

All this mask wearing and 100K+ cases a day.... Is covid not following the natural order any longer, or was I right all along for the last 2 years?

You simply can't prevent respiratory infections from spreading. And slowing spread now in HK's current situation is not only pointless, it sends the wrong message to society.

    I s.t.i.l.l don't wear masks anywhere as a default.

    Today I had 2 MTR's, 2 KCRs, I minibus, I big bus and 1 taxi.

I half wore a mask on the minibus and nothing at any other time, all fully intentional and rational.

And what's most interesting is that I have fewer 'mask showdowns' than prior to this much welcome outbreak.

    Viva la Covid!

Can anybody clarify if Tamar Park is cordoned off, or it’s just umbrellas that are prohibited per #33? Thank you.

It’s open. Plenty of yoga, boxing, dancing couples as of yesterday. Just no tents.
