Has anyone seen hospitalisation numbers? Reports on the current hospital and A&E situation?
One of my data points is the number of positives they get from the lockdown testing. Previous numbers showed 17%ish.. If that number starts to drop then I think the overall numbers are good.

At some point in Jan all the pundits were saying we will be o er this in April/May.. Given how quickly omicron burnt out in the UK and US.

Now what happens when we get the second cousin of Omicron...

True... but we do have new quarantine facilities and staunch support to deal with. Any bets on how mild the policy response will be between to even a mosquito farting between now and the CCP session in Oct/Nov?

Omicron hasn’t burnt out in those countries. People need to stop thinking that infection numbers won’t stay high for a while. What has changed is that those governments stopped caring about the mild cases and didn’t hold the entire society hostage

Given the experience in several countries I think we CAN expect numbers to drop off quickly.
