Well Done HKGov - increasing minimum space per care home patient

As advocated by the Pan Dems Fernando Cheung some progress being made in improving care homes but really land premiums need to be removed fully.

Simply Amazing ! what year is it again ? For such a supposedly wealthy city, they really left a lot to be desired, how the elderly are treated. Maybe they can cease making them scrounge around collecting cardboard and actually look after their elderly population in a manner that actually befits such a wealthy city!

My wife manages an aged care facility here in Queensland and the difference in care by comparison and we have our own government funding issues, but compared to Hong Kong, the facility's here are well maintained, modern, spacious and luxurious compared to Hong Kong.

Hong Kong really has a LONG way to go before I would consider it to be taken seriously in this area, in how it actually demonstrates any level of effective/reasonable care of its elderly. Sucks to be elderly in Hong Kong, so I'd really like to see what beneficial improvements are going to be made, compared to the depressing and run down state of what was provided previously.

It would want to be many levels better than what they've subjected the elderly to previously, before I'd remotely get excited about this announcement, which are merely words until they can actually demonstrate any 'real' improvement.

Due to the low level of land allocated to care homes further push for the extended wait in HK or go to Guangzhou approach to getting a care home space.

    1. No visitation flexibility for close family members in Hong Kong.
    2. Time for wet market to relocate up to the north.
