    2022 Consumption Voucher - New Eligibility & Distribution Schedule

    Highlights:
    • First installment on 7th August - $2000, 1st October for next $2000, when you spend $4000, you'll get the 3rd voucher (earliest 16th of December).

    • Need to spend $4000 by Dec, to receive the rest by April next year.

    • Need to be resident in HK from June 18, 2021, and June 12, 2022. Not sure what the minimum period of residency is. Also reasons such as overseas study and temporary company transfers will all be accepted.

    • MPF accounts wil be checked for those < 65YO to check if applicants have closed their MPF accounts to "permanently depart Hong Kong".

    • Applications for newly eligible - June 23 to July 23

    • No actions needed if you're not change your SVF account.

    No..

    If you have restrictions on your visa, you're not considered eligible. But wait for a day or two for the govt to release official eligibility documents.

    Consumption voucher (Phase 2) includes Permission to Remain

    Info on this page. This means the small minority of forum members with QMAS (and other visas with "permission to remain" on them) are now valid for 50% of whatever remains (2k - better than nothing)

    Sorry if this has been asked before but what would be the best option to collect the vouchers if if leave begin oh July? Would like to leave the subsidy Timmy team to habe a great night out.
    I have the octopus on my phone. Get a physical octopus and leave it with a colleague?
    My mpf account is still active and I would only close it end of the year.

    Am I reading this correctly - new registrants who are eligible PRs get the benefit of the full HK$10k (i.e. Phase I HK$5k too)?

    GEP eligible for consumption vouchers

    As the main thread was closed I'm posting this in a new thread. GEP visa holders (as well as any other visa holder not otherwise disqualified in the announcement) are eligible for the new consumption vouchers if they held an Identity Card at the time of announcement 13/June/2022:

    Only the following visa holders are disqualified:

    [Note 4: The following persons, though being a Hong Kong resident holding avalid HKIC or EC issued by the Commissioner of Registration under Cap. 177A(where applicable) who has valid permission to remain in Hong Kong, areineligible for the Scheme -
     any person who is employed as a contract worker from outside Hong Kongunder a Government importation of labour scheme; or
     any person who is employed as a domestic helper from outside HongKong; or
     any person who is a member of consular post within the meaning of theConsular Relations Ordinance, Cap. 557; or
     any person who is a member of the Hong Kong Garrison; or
     any person who is the holder of a prescribed Central People’s Governmenttravel document.]
