One of the reports said it is going to "SE Asia for repairs" ...

They have taken a fair few who used to work here... might as well give them something where they can go and order their Singapore Slings and celebrate the good old days in HK.

One place of not been to. And I’ve been around plenty in my 10 years here. Did I miss much?

Let's move the relic during the Typhoon season, on the sea! What could go wrong?

It'll probably end up beached on the shores of India like every other abandoned water vessel.

You missed the lovely view of the kitchen block that you get before you circle around to the front on the ferry shuttle on the way there!

It would be cool if we could just tie a rope around Hong Kong Island and drag that south to Thailand or Singapore as well. Sorry Kowloon is stuck to the mainland and unfortunately has to be left behind

Lets not forget, there was two of these restaurants and the other was taken to Manila Bay. They can do long distance trips.
The other one later renamed Manila Jumbo Palace was smaller.
Stanley Ho bought it. I can't find anything about it now.

You're talking about the "Jumbo Palace" (former Sea Palace) - it shut down in Manila Bay in 2008 and so in 2011, Stanley then donated it to the Qingdao municipal govt. Not sure how long it stayed there for because I don't think it's there anymore either
