Payment in full on booking without mandated and standard refund policies us going to be fun..
Just had a look at the Mira Moon website but it's not bookable - or has it sold out already...?
Payment in fulll is pretty much standard. I’m sure agents and hotels will find an angle to exploit the first ruling but the refund policy is a biggie, it gives inmates at least the ability to point to rules being broken. If they could extend to hotels not charging the extra night so much the better BUT let’s not deny this is a positive move.
May be we got lucky with Nina. They would charge the card for 1 days cost as deposit and charge the rest on arrival (as close to that as possible.. Details are hazy,).
that’s an interesting point. The announcement talks about payment in full. Does that mean that the few hotels currently not doing this will now do so. That’s ok with refund guidance from the authorities but refunds can take 30-60 days. Not helpful for people in a hole (which is the status quo anyway).
Full payment but your point is valid for those few hotels that don’t take the full lot in advance on booking. Going down well in FB as well.
Is this old news already?
Checked Cordis and Regal - their policies. Dunno about the rest.

So now they are not accepting changes if you get covid overseas and need to delay your return?!?
Typical govt move...
