Well I will be hoping to turn my reservation into a firm booking this morning. They haven’t answered my last 3 emails to confirm whether the reservation is still good and they don’t answer the phones.

There does seem to be a lack of coordination. Some hotels were already taking bookings for August and onwards. Others were saying that they needed the hotel list to be confirmed before they could release rooms, but their online booking calendars are still blacked out for August. I guess the reservation staff need to come in this morning and open up the dates.

Yeah - you coordination and communication has NOT been a hallmark of this administration. Even between govt depts!

Still no response from my hotel. Phones have never been answered even when I stayed there in January. The hotel WhatsApp are saying they’re only for service and the THREE email addresses I have for the hotel are all being unresponsive.

I have a clear reservation in writing from them subject to the wave being released but I really fear the worst until they respond and I can actually pay for it.

Give them some time...they're probably inundated.

But also consider making a backup booking (I heard W has a refund policy).
