Both probably. The importance of HK to Xi has been clear in what he has done over the past few years.

Like Hong Kong, China has a flight circuit-breaker policy that activates when a small number of cases are detected on a flight. However, during the Feb HK outbreak they never activated this policy despite each flight carrying dozens of positive cases into China (the great majority ended up in Shanghai as it handled up to 70% of inbound passengers prior to the lockdown).

Ooooh. bouncy water castles. If you're determined to make 1 July an outing day, first Wanchai, next stop Tin Shui Wai .

Is this the first time they're attempting this... it better not be a handful of sorry-looking inflatable pools on an open field...

The Leisure & Cultural Services Department will hold a water event in Tin Shui Wai on July 1 for members of the public to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

As part of the Happy@Parks campaign, the event will be held at the artificial turf pitch of Tin Yip Road Park, offering a variety of fun water activities including a giant inflatable water slide, a fun water maze, shaking boats and bouncy water castles.

There will also be other fun-filled activities such as water game booths and a photo corner. Admission is free.

Looks like Xi is arriving on Thursday if the numbers don't spiral out of control.

Is Xi going to or not going to wear a mask?
