It seemed great at first glace- but then the fine print- what if our work premises have the 'Leavehome Safe' app for entry? Admittedly, not all workplace admins strictly check if employers scan their mobile phones every morning, but bosses may not allow for employers to work at the premises due to that.

Even worse, as I discussed with my employer, the requirement by the HK gov that employees Must be allowed to work from home if they test positive, or had close contact with a family member- that Gocpolicy was NOT extended to those in Q hotels. So, my company was not open to allowing me to work from home during Hotel quarantine. I'm uncertain if they would allow leeway for the '4 day' period, but I doubt it, from my discussions with them. Still very frustrating.

On top of that I only have 4 annual leave days left for the calendar year, and my sibling is getting married in the UK in mid. September. A real conundrum- at least my Co. admin explained why they had the different policy for Work from Home for those in Covid qurantine as opposed to Hotel Q- I was very frustrated for a while due my perceived discrepancy of policy. However, they have headstrong in not allowing for me to Work remotely during Hotel quarantine. So I'm still very frustrated...

Man the government do make shit more and more confusing.

In the current system, you arrive on Day 1 and can depart after Day 7; so if the flight arrives at 23:59 on Day 1, you can be released from Q at 00:00:00 of Day 8 and refuse to sleep the final night: a total of 6 days 1 minute.

Starting Friday, if you arrive on Day 0 at 23:59, you will be released sometime in the afternoon, say 14:00, during Day 3; a total of 2 days 14 hours 1 minute.

I think it means quarantine is 3 nights, not 3 days

What activities are banned then during those 4 days home quarantine?

I suppose sports facilities are one of them?

They have simplified it... yes, Day 1 became 0, but the new "0" is medically accurate + check out time has changed to 9AM.

So, 0 is the new 1 and 9 and the new 24.

Think 72 (hours) and don't compound your confusion.

So far - mask off and in public / places which have a mandatory vaccine "blue" code.

But wait for the gazetted changes / press release.

    Again,

    1) Check with your employers and premises rules and conditions
    2) Should be allowed as it is "mask on" work
    3) See 1 and repeat a few times...

Just to clarify, "day zero" has replaced "dynamic zero"?

Would have been good if someone had asked that at the press conference.
