Can someone tell me what happens if you test positive after arriving in HK?

With the new system meaning its not necessary to wait in the airport, I assume you'll be in your home/hotel when you get the resutls back.

Does that mean you will be given a red code and be hauled off to penny's bay? Or will you be able to quarantine in your hotel/apartment and just not allowed to go outside?

I think similar to before. If your PCR is positive (usually takes 12-24 hours for results), then they tell you to pack yo shit.

If you test positive with the RAT at the airport, then you probably get escorted to the Q hotel directly from the airport.

Woot! I am sure many tourist would love to take gamble to come here because there are no other cities/countries that they can visit!?!? *sarcasm for the flatearthers*

Wait I thought arrival test was PCR? Has it now changed to RAT? I thought only the preflight test was changed to RAT.

So I guess they still haul you off to PB/Quaratine hotel even if you're at home isolating?

It will be miraculously fully scrapped before the sevens with a month of data for which we already know the results

Dont quote me on this. But when I came back last month, it was BOTH RAT and PCR. Meaning, if RAT is positive, I go to PB right away. PCR test is not available until after you enter the Q hotel.

Not sure if this is the same approach for the new arrangements.

But just FYI, the airport will be slammed. When I arrived, it was queues after queues at different stations. I think they will remove 1 or 2 stations after the changes, but the queues cant be avoided. Meaning expect 3-5 hours to get out of the airport.

It took me 3+ hours, 6 different stations, 20 minutes power walk, and 2 pokes to gtfo the god damn airport.

Arrival will be a PCR but no waiting for results. Spit / swab and go through immd.
