Just noticed Austrian Airlines never really used HKIA. Air France could merge with KLM as its the same company.
So its a toss between AA, AF or UA (unlikely)

Only other airlines are ones already flying here (Finnair, Lufthansa, KLM, BA)

Air Canada has yet to show any resumption of direct flights from YYZ/YVR, they're still routing via ICN due to the arcane measures that were in place here.

EDIT: YVR direct is now showing up still no YYZ.

Air Canada has been flying the odd direct service as we have had clients use them for their pets. I think the YVR route is one they wouldn't want to give up considering the amount of Hong Kongers living there.

UA did have quite a presence with SFO, ORD & EWR although I thought it was CX that had the IAD route.

AA would be more likely then United.

Swiss would be a shocker as they have had on off service to Zurich whereas Air France hasnt flown for nearly 3 years.

It was from HK01 so could all be a crock of shit.

Why did Virgin say in its announcement of closing HK that it plans to resume its Shanghai route?

I get closing the HK office for cost reasons, but does VS really have more business in and out of Shanghai, to the point of not even running an HK route a few times a week?
