I have a new low cost high return bold measure. Can help gdp. We string up these scholars for a HK Sar tour starting from Statue Sq, HK island. $99 for 5 min session of Chinese style caning meant for naughty children. Must bring your own Chinese bamboo stick which every Chinese household has at least 2 or buy at venue but price is marked up at 500% so $5.00.
Why the hatred for people commenting on what they consider bad policy. Their collective role in society is to think freely and suggest a myriad of theories. I suspect other theories are being suggested but not printed.

What are you talking about... what hatred. How did you even get this impression from what I wrote about the scholars.... there's good policy and bad policy and just complete crazy nonsense unrelated to the policy. How is giving refunds to PRs already here helping to attract fresh talent. You know they said that as an additional point ON TOP OF suggesting that stamp duty rates be cut for foreigners.... is that not some loony shit or what...

    Bold moves ...

    - Stamp Duty Holiday of sorts...
    - No/less due diligence on some types of visas for some types of firms

The government may also relax rules on a 15 percent stamp duty that non-resident property buyers need to pay, with part or all of the impost likely to be refunded after workers have stayed in Hong Kong for a certain number of years, some of the people said. It remains unclear what the minimum period is and whether all non-resident buyers would qualify.
In other moves to reverse the trend and entice workers back to Hong Kong, officials are considering a new form of visa to make it easier for non-locals to work in the city, the people said, without divulging details. Other measures being discussed include cash subsidies for some highly skilled professionals and setting up a specific government branch to attract and manage mainland and overseas workers and investment, the people said.

    Oh dear.

Hard to see the second point being skewed to attract international rather than national talent.

Sadly it has been nowhere near to 150 for some time... From memory last year averaged about 50 a day.

HK just doesn't have the pulling power it used to what with increasing prosperity domestically and the various border faff and covid risk over here

I really think that they should consider legalising weed. It would really help boost the economy and revive the decimated tourism sector.
