T3 to remain in force until 6am and it seems they will hoist the T8 at some point after that, likely for the rest of the day.

    Could be mid morning though.

    From the HKO

The Strong Wind Signal, No. 3 will remain in force before 6 a.m. tomorrow. The Observatory will consider issuing the No. 8 Gale or Storm Signal during the day tomorrow. However, the exact timing would depend on the actual variation in local winds.

Paeng is the name used in the Philippines.

The men with the sticks are rescue workers with the lovely job of looking for bodies in the mud.

Get all the kids into schools tomorrow morning, though most of them go home at lunchtime anyway. They'll get a soaking!

If they are posting a T8 tomorrow it is going to be up for a while. Forecasts are saying nearest to HK on Thursday then it still has to pass. It lasted 60 hours with us.

I am going to predict very close to a direct hit (within 100 km).

Now that I'm retired, I applaud the increased productivity in others.
