HK to halve PCR tests for arrivals

    Arrived at 7pm, took 10 mins to taxi to the terminal gate from the 3rd runway, but was out of the terminal and in a taxi by 7:35pm, all quite painless.

    Just got -ve test results, so all good so far.

    I arrived close to midnight the other day. Pretty full flight - perhaps 200 passengers. Can't remember which gate we arrived at, but we all had to queue for the mouth swab. It was pretty quick - maybe 10-15 minutes wait in total and then on to the train to the main terminal and through immigration.

    Much, much better experience from a few months ago, but still out of step with the rest of the world. And not what you want when arriving late at night.

    I get the impression that many people in the testing centres are now going through the motions. As an example, when doing my day 2 PCR this morning, nobody asked me to scan LHS. Temperature testing was perfunctory at best. I'm not complaining about this, just an observation.
