    Decline of the MTR

Another serious safety incident. This time two carriages seem to have decoupled forcing a tunnel evacuation and the closure of the TKO line.

Comedians in my groups are suggesting that future tunnels will now have walking / running tracks along side dedicated cycling paths to facilitate healthy living and reduce carbon footprint or something...

ST reporting that around 1500 people had to hike to the nearest platform.

To ensure safety, the Operations Control Centre arranged for station staff to lead the 1,500 passengers on board to walk safely and orderly along the tunnel from the emergency exit ramp to the platform at Tseung Kwan O Station.

National security police must immediately investigate and bring to justice those MTR staff who clearly are not patriotic enough to make the trains run smoothly; and they must be under the evil foreign influences as well!!

Literally two weeks or something before the new bridge and tunnel opens as well!

Certainly unfortunate, but having lived with British Rail for several decades - I would take the HK MTR over any rail system in the UK any day.
