87yo Taxi Driver - 3 accidents in 9 days

An 87 year old driver was arrested twice for dangerous driving after

- knocking over a motorcycle (private settlement)
- flipping over his taxi with a passenger inside (arrested)
- driving into multiple parked motorcycles (re-arrested)

Leung also on multiple occasions told officers on the scene he has no issues with his driving.

However, the staff of Leung’s taxi firm said otherwise when arriving on the scene to help with the investigation, revealing that Leung was involved in another accident last December, where he drove his taxi up a curb in Admiralty and totaled the vehicle after it flipped onto its side.

I’m quite sure this guy or his older brother have been driving me around HK about 10% of the time…

Yes they must be at least 70

How can he afford to keep working?

Local friend told me that his family is fairly well off, living in Canada, etc. the old guy kept sneaking off unbeknownst to his family to keep working, sometimes pulling double shifts just because he enjoys driving.

Dunno if it’s true but it makes the story a bit more quirky.
