It is to protect overall public health and for the good of people

    What does this even mean?

This is the reason why pre-departure RAT test remain in place for everyone who isn't from the PRC or Macau. For people from the PRC and Macau no need for RAT tests.

"Rapid tests to remain for public health needs
Arrivals from overseas will still be required to undergo a rapid antigen test (RAT). Lee said such measures were needed for the time being for infection control and public health.
“It is to protect overall public health and for the good of people,” Lee argued, adding that the government would review the measure after the city had resumed full reopening with the mainland."

Although you don't actually have to report the result of said test anywhere anymore...

Some airlines are asking for you to show them the result before checking you in.

I doubt most people in the world even know what these tests are and you cannot buy them anywhere.

    Clueless.

Qatar still asked me for RAT proof and health dec QR before boarding back to HK a week ago. Can't blame them for not keeping up with the ever changing rules.

Pretty rich of Chinar/HK to still have these requirements. As if screwing over the world with this virus was anybody else's fault. But hey, what else do we expect from this arrogant bunch?
