    South Island West MTR line?

Is this still on the cards? I think that's meant to connect Aberdeen - Wah Fu - CyberPort to Kennedy Town. I notice there's huge amount of work happening around Wah Fu estate in (Pok Fu Lam) but that might just be the rehousing of public housing I suppose and no commitment to an MTR station there.

Is the traffic and noise/air pollution there awful right now? Not on the ground but will check it out soon.

Loads of construction all along that stretch with a number of big projects. No real impact to traffic (yet). I wouldnt hold breath on South Island line extension... all focus is on the northern metropolis mission. And quite possibly in the coming years on extensive drainage and slope work if last year's weather ends up being a taste of things to come.

Air quality generally more affected by what wafts over from up north than anything domestic... shipping here is allowed to use horrible dirty fuel close to port and land in a way that doesn't apply in many other places so that is also a bit nasty sometimes.

Was speaking with one of the community leaders of Wah Fu about the redevelopment of that area a few weeks ago. He said the MTR has been silently canned and the place where the station was planned to go will now have public housing built on it.

Hong Kong implemented low sulphur fuel requirements in its waters from 1 April 2019, although admittedly the limit is still higher than in some other places.

I really don't know anyone here in PFL, other than property agents who take the idea of a MTR line appearing here seriously.

I don't see much room around here for a Wong Chuk Hang style development cum mall cum MTR station here. But then I have been told I lack vision.

Residents expectations have been tapered down to an escalator from Victoria road to Queen Mary / HKU or something like that

Definitely not on the cards anymore. HK Government spending is geared towards unification with mainland. So it's being put in things like building a town right at the border of Shenzhen which is deemed "Northern Metropolis" but will certainly become Futian South in due time.

i still think it will happen if wa-fu village is redeveloped into that 50 or 100k residential estate.. then economically it makes sense.. otherwise and with the heavy delays and focus elsewhere, it will be much much later.

The scope of that project has been significantly cut down as well. The gentleman who I was referring to earlier also shared the sentiment is that it's likely to be cut even further and may not go much further beyond replacing the decaying public housing units.
