    Isn't the octopus kit a much cheaper and feasible option ? like said, why would i pay 3.5% fee to provide convenience to passengers.. and once doing that driver lose the option to sneak in cuts of tips (rounding up fares)....

    I’ve noticed heavy ticketing of taxis parked at taxi stands overnight and increased enforcement of double yellow pickup.

    The money has to come from somewhere.

    The formula used by the transport department to justify / explain increases includes the need to increase rents to the rent seeking holders of the licenses.
