Do we think all these tickets are actually selling to real people, or are there huge stocks with the scalpers? I'm surprised at there being 200k people who want to go see them, assuming 50k capacity for 4 nights...

I concur - I think this is going to be a bit of a fiasco. But worst case, in order to avoid losing face, I wouldn't be surprised in the government bussed people in in order to make the stadium look full, North Korea style.

People often travel from Mainland China for events like this. In fact, often most attendees will be non-locals.

200K who wants to see it, I am not surprised, Those concerts bring people from lot of places. You can be sure a lot of people will come from China, Taiwan, Philipines... Saw them in Tokyo last year, it was full of SE Asia, HK... people attending.

I’m sure some attendees will come from up north and around SEA. 90 million people in the Pearl River Delta alone. I’m considering a Linkin Park show in Tokyo or Jakarta next year.

I’m also sure there are many tickets being scalped up & resold by people who are scum of the earth though.

Well OK, but in the last 13 months they've already played:

    Tokyo (2 nights)
    Kaohsiung (2 nights)
    Jakarta
    Kuala Lumpur
    Perth (2 nights)
    Manila (2 nights)
    Singapore (6 nights)
    Bangkok (2 nights)

And they are playing 5 nights in India before here, and 6 nights in Korea right after.

If you are a Coldplay fan and have the money I can see you going to see more than one show. Have you never watched a band more than once?

Well yes, but I don't recall doing so within a year or two. All those dates were from the same tour, so the show is going to be pretty much the same.

People listen to the same album over and over. I know someone who has seen the musical Miss Saigon 42 times, travelling to different countries to do so. Fan is short for fanatic and many are fanatic

None of these locations are as easy as Hong Kong is for fans in China.
