    Coldplay April 8th Date Added

    Additional Date: April 8th - https://geoexpat.com/forum/342/threa...ml#post3965644

Coldplay is set to perform in Hong Kong early next year, with the British rock band to be among the first to play at the soon-to-open, 50,000-seat Kai Tak Stadium, the Post has learned. Two separate sources told the Post on Tuesday that ticket sales would launch around the start of 2025.

Western Australian government paid Coldplay A$8m (HK$42m) for two exclusive shows in Perth last year, ie they didn't perform in any other Australian city. People swarmed to Perth from the rest of Aus, Singapore, SE Asia, etc for the concerts so supposedly the tourist dollars brought in was worth the taxpayer expenditure.

It seems to be a tactic these days. I see that the Oasis concerts in Dublin were sold one hour before the ones in the UK, so most of the people buying them were from abroad. Was it a deliberate tactic to boost hospitality sector in Ireland? It would definitely make sense in the UK and Ireland to have non locals attending concerts and forcing everyone to travel even if a band is playing in their own city.

Glad to see this! Let's make HK a spot for big show!

Personally, was a bit piss when Taylor Swift when to Singapore and not HK....

I am no concert goer but still want HK/China getting big event over our rival lol

Did Black Pink go to HK? I recall they when to Macau last year as I recall seeing posters their.

Do we think Kai Tak stadium is going to be ready in time for the sevens? Seems like the pressure is on

I wonder if their playlist will need to be vetted beforehand. Although, they're not the most political band do maybe not.
