Shenzhen Residents - 1 Year Unlimited Multi-Entry Visas

In other news, Coldplay will be given a month long residency in HK..

China has eased visa rules for Shenzhen residents traveling to Hong Kong, allowing unlimited visits within a year instead of the previous one-trip-per-week limit.

This came one day after Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu hinted that there would soon be news on the administration's request for changes to visa arrangements for mainland residents visiting Hong Kong.

Starting December 1, residents of Shenzhen will be able to apply for multiple-entry visas to Hong Kong, according to state broadcaster China Central Television.

My concern is not the random families or tourists.

I am just hoping we can filter out the fake monks, begging gangs, scammers etc.

With all the investments in recognising who you are, where you've been and predicting where you'll go and what you'll do, we should be safe from all of that.

From the Olden Days ... now some 95% of the residents are incomers from parts north or their descendents. My experience in SZ and Zhuhai over the past 30 years or so is that if I try addressing a salesperson/ stallholder/ waiter in Canto, I get a horrified stare for a second or so before they rush off to find someone who can actually speak the local aboriginal lingo.

As a Tuen Mun resident who remembers what the local shops were like during evenings and weekends before Covid, I figure I'm going to find somewhere NOT on a big mainland transport route to do my shopping again...
