This is quite an irrational worry in choosing what flights to take, even in the current climate. One can argue you might be safer on a Taiwanese airline as their crew are much more familiar with airspace restrictions in the area. Let's assume we rank there to be in line with 97 and the handover - else no comment...Baltimore, Detroit, Birmingham, even Beijing, ahead of HK...well OK.

HK has a lot of flaws but you you need to be really blind to rank Richmond ahead of HK
