I remember my wife needed a police clearance in the UK but I am pretty sure they didn't ask about the Philippines

I will add that I'm not sure about fully certified teachers or those on the NET scheme but I think they may require checks from any place they've lived. Teachers working through agencies do not require it, although technically they're not supposed to be alone in a classroom without a Cantonese speaker present.
